With the chaos of motherhood, it can be easy to get caught up in the “what ifs”, the “not enough”, the “too busy”, and the “WTH just happened” of the journey.

Drop me an “Amen sister” if you feel me.

Gabrielle Bernstein says, “There is no lack of things to be grateful for it you are paying attention”.

If you are paying attention, your eyes will be open to a bigger picture than the “here and now” that you are feeling on the day-to-day climb of this mountain we call motherhood.

If you are paying attention, you can be grateful for the little things, which end up being the things that truly matter.

Kadyn and I recently started saying all the things we are grateful for as we are snuggling before he falls asleep. ((I would love for him to get in the habit of falling asleep listing off a gratitude list! We’ve only just started, but I think we are off to greatness.))

I say things like, “I’m grateful for Daddy, Sissy, Oscar, Jacob, Grandma and Grandpa, our house, music, our doctors and nurses”, ect…… Kadyn says things like, “I’m grateful for Baby Mozart music and elephants and puppies and Mommy cuddles”.

Until I was a mom, I never knew you could melt a heart and warm it at the same time with only words.

Like I said, if you are paying attention, you can be grateful for the little things, which end up being the things that truly matter.

Today, I’m grateful for being blessed with home life, not doing hospital life. 💕
