I love this so much! ♥️
For me personally, it’s important to remember a level of personal responsibility with this…..
…… I’m entitled to my feelings…. and I don’t need to apologize for them, but I’m not entitled to treat people poorly because of how I’m feeling, because feelings aren’t facts.
💣 I don’t have to apologize for crying, but I need to apologize if I make someone cry because I’m snappy or harsh.
💣 I don’t have to apologize for feeling sad, but I need to apologize if my sadness is manifesting as aggression and bringing others down.
💣 I don’t need to apologize for expressing my emotions, but I need to apologize if my emotions cause me to lash out; I should be able to express my emotions without destroying someone.
💣 I don’t need to apologize for being different or viewing something different, but I need to apologize if I’m insisting that my own way is the only right way.
💣 I don’t need to apologize for doing things that make me happy, but I do need to apologize if what makes me happy is hurtful to those around me, or if I’m putting my happiness ahead of everyone else’s.
💣 I don’t need to apologize for making myself a priority, but I do need to apologize if I’m being thoughtless of others in the process.
💣 I don’t need to apologize for being me, but I need to take responsibility for who I am each day and who I’m becoming, and apologize when “being me” (aka- human) means I hurt someone.
♥️ You can be unapologetic about who you are, but be sure that who you are is a person rooted in responsibility for who you are becoming.
My kids won't learn personal responsibility without seeing me model it. Just my personal beliefs. 😘🤗
Do you agree or disagree with me? Which of these is your favorite??
